NMEA Plus
NMEA Plus
NMEA Plus nbsp; NMEA nbsp;+ nbsp; AIS! nbsp; is a very useful software program designed
with maritime service engineers and marine navigators in mind.
NMEA Plus boasts features such as capture, save, retransmit, NMEA field
information display and checksum verification, making it a valuable tool when
working with data from GPS receivers, AIS transponders and other navigational
equipment which use the NMEA 0183 IEC 61162 data communications protocol.
Unique sentence header and total sentence received counts are
shown with individual sentences available for examination and
editing as required. NMEA Plus can capture AIS messages at port speeds of
4800 or 38400 baud and display decoded encapsulated data.
It can decode AIS messages and present a 'live' display of position
reports by monitoring the data available at the 'pilot plug'.
NMEA Plus is a boon to navigators wishing to save waypoint and route lists.
With NMEA Plus, and a GPS that supports waypoint saving, data is
downloaded effortlessly. Waypoint data can be modified, stored and
uploaded back to your GPS receiver at any time.
System requirements
NMEA Plus has been designed to run on all Windows copy; 32-bit operating
systems preferably with Notepad.exe reg; installed . The program file size is quite
small, despite it's many useful features, making it ideal for 'field use' on
minimal PCs or laptops.
NMEA Plus requires a computer that has at least one serial
communications port, although if more ports are available,
multiple copies of the program can be run, each monitoring
a different port Com1 up to Com10 .
Suitable connecting cables for PC to GPS receiver, UAIS etc. will be needed.
Note: Not all GPS receivers are capable of data upload .
