Utility EA Script Engine is a very useful and powerful accessory of Enterprise Architect CASE tool. Utility EA Script Engine is an ADD-IN application that inserts a scripting core into a CASE tool by which you can write your own scripts directly in the open application. In contrast to the standard methods of using a script, utility EA Script Engine works directly above the open application of CASE tool and approaches currently opened model inside EA, i.e. scripting core works directly above the opened application EA and its current object Repository, the same way as an ADD-IN type of application is used. In contrast to ADD-IN application, created scripts can easily cover all needs to exchange or change. Thanks to utility EA Script Engine you can easily and transparently insert scripts that control outputs, lists and reports from EA, directly into an opened application EA. You can easily create your own code generators, even connect CASE tool with another application, e.g. Word, Excell, or tool for the versions control etc. What is more, the application makes it possible to add finished and running scripts to so-called permanent scripts, and the menu options of the application allow user to start them directly. Thus scripts may become adequate accessories of CASE tool, similarly to ADD IN components, but those scripts are much simpler unlike ADD-IN components, because they need no registration or support of the development environment. |
